Nominations are being accepted for the Tampa Bay Soccer Hall of Fame’s second class, which will be formally inducted during the organization’s awards dinner on August 13, 2026, at Higgins Hall in Tampa.
Nominations will be accepted from Nov. 1, 2025 through Jan. 15, 2026.
The nomination categories include:
Builder: Owners, CEOs, general managers, administrators, operations managers, directors of coaching and founders.
Media: Individuals and organizations who have influenced the sport’s growth and recognition through reporting, broadcasting or other media endeavors.
Player: International-level players, professional athletes, collegiate standouts and other top soccer players who have brought distinction to Tampa Bay.
Coach: Coaches at all levels will be considered for their positive impact and accomplishments.
Referee: Individuals who have officiated at international, professional, college, amateur, high school or youth levels, contributing to the game’s development, fairness and integrity.

The TBSHOF’s inaugural class included Mike Connell, Jim Di Nobile, Eddie Firmani, Jim Henderson, Vicky King, Francisco Marcos, Mike Mekelburg Sr., Jay Miller, Derek Smethurst, George Strawbridge, and Steve Wegerle.
Special individual awards were given posthumously to Lizzie Burda and Monsignor Laurence Higgins, while team awards were presented to the 1975 Tampa Bay Rowdies and the Tampa Bay Sun FC.
