TAMPA, Fla., July 13, 2026— Suncoast Credit Union, the largest credit union in Florida and a longtime soccer supporter, has become a sponsor of the Tampa Bay Soccer Hall of Fame.
Suncoast, which began in 1934 as Hillsborough County Teachers Credit Union, operates 80 full-service branches and serves more than 1.4 million members statewide. Since 1990, Suncoast has raised and donated more than $63 million to organizations and initiatives that support the health, education, and emotional well-being of children.
The impact of soccer has become a priority for Suncoast, which supports the United Soccer League’s Tampa Bay Sun, various community soccer events and now the TBSHOF.
“Suncoast has always been community-oriented, and we understand the growing popularity of soccer,’’ said Harrison Aquino, Vice President of Marketing for Suncoast Credit Union. “Soccer is one of the things that brings a community together. We see that as a big plus. When our community gets stronger, our organization gets stronger. And we can be good partners by offering our community the best savings and lending needs. That’s how we view it.’’
Aquino said he believes in the TBSHOF’s mission.
“It’s huge because it highlights all of the good things in our community’s soccer efforts,’’ Aquino said. “We never want to miss an opportunity to support those who are putting in the work, on and off the field. It’s important to recognize those who have given so much to the sport of soccer.’’
The TBSHOF, which began in 2025, is dedicated to honoring Tampa Bay’s soccer history while promoting and highlighting the game. The TBSHOF will induct its second Hall of Fame class on Thursday, Aug. 13, during a dinner at Tampa’s Higgins Hall on the campus of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Last year’s inaugural induction dinner was sold out and set in motion for the TBSHOF’s mission of honoring the sport’s Tampa Bay legacy.
“It’s overall great for the community, and we are very happy to be a supporter of the Tampa Bay Soccer Hall of Fame,’’ Aquino said.
