The Tampa Bay Soccer Hall of Fame has made a $1,000 donation to TOPSoccer, a program with the Florida Youth Soccer Association that offers community-based training and team placements for young athletes with disabilities.
Ed Austin, a TBSHOF board member, made the presentation to FYSA TOPSoccer Committee Chair Jennifer DiTillio, trainer Rob Stover and FYSA past president Kai Velmer.
As part of its “Play It Forward’’ program, the TBSHOF plans more future donations to benefit soccer programs in the Tampa Bay region.
“This is part of our mission,’’ TBSHOF president Fred Sikorski said. “We honor the legacy of Tampa Bay soccer through our Hall of Fame and help to promote the game. But giving back is very important to us, and we look forward to helping many more soccer organizations in our area.’’
