Tampa Bay Sun FC

Biography 

Tampa Bay Sun FC has quickly become an important part of Tampa Bay’s soccer story. As Tampa Bay’s first professional women’s soccer club, the Sun helped bring first division women’s soccer to the region and gave local players, families, and fans a new team to rally behind.

The club began play in the USL Super League’s inaugural season in 2024, with home matches along the Hillsborough River in Downtown Tampa. Led by head coach Denise Schilte Brown and club president Christina Unkel, Tampa Bay Sun FC made an immediate impact on and off the field.

In their first season, the Sun captured the 2025 USL Super League Championship, marking a historic achievement for the club and for women’s professional soccer in Tampa Bay. Through their success, community presence, and commitment to growing the game, Tampa Bay Sun FC continues to inspire the next generation and strengthen the region’s soccer legacy.
